04/15/10 Day one
The building begins
Today we started the foundation of the playhouse. First we measured out and marked with stakes the outline of the ship.
After we traced out the outline I felt it was to small. So after a bit of whining on my part, and more than a few sighs on my husbands part we settled out the size of the ship. 13 feet long and a bit more than 8 feet wide.
We dug out trenches and filled them with wood forms.
Then we filled them with cement. We started with 190 lbs of cement but it wasn't even half of what we ended up needing. We did what we could but had to stop when we ran out of cement.
04/17/10
After picking up another 450 lbs of cement (we used all but 70 lbs of it) we filled in the foundation and then finished for the day and let it dry.
